Create a digital business card using a Wallet pass

You can build a digital business card as a Wallet pass. The card holds the person details, and a QR code shares them as a vCard that a phone reads into contacts. This guide walks through the template.

Create the template

Create a new template and fill in the basics. The Generic pass type works best for a business card look.

Set colors and images

Open Design & Content. Set your brand colors and upload your logo and icon. With the Generic type, you can add a thumbnail image, for example a photo of the card holder. To give each card its own photo, turn on the option for a thumbnail that differs per pass, then provide the image when you create the pass or through a process.

Add the personal fields

Open Personalization and add a field for each detail you want to store, such as First Name, Last Name, Email, Company and Position. You reference these anywhere with the placeholder brackets, for example {First Name}.

Put a vCard in the QR code

Click the edit button next to the QR code in the preview. Make sure the barcode format is QR Code. In the value field, enter vCard text that uses your placeholders. A vCard looks like this.

BEGIN:VCARD
VERSION:3.0
N:{Last Name};{First Name};;
FN:{First Name} {Last Name}
ORG:{Company}
TITLE:{Position}
END:VCARD

When someone scans the code, their phone offers to save the contact.
