Pass Bundles

Pass Bundles

A bundle delivers several passes, up to 10, to a phone in one download. The holder taps once and receives every pass in the bundle. This works well for an event ticket paired with vouchers, or an insurance pass for each contract a customer holds.

How bundles behave

Passcreator links the passes in a bundle with a shared bundle ID. Beyond that link, the passes stay independent. You can update one pass, void it, or remove it without touching the others. You can add or remove passes from a bundle at any time, but holders only see the change when they download the bundle again.

Note. You cannot push extra passes into a wallet after the holder has already downloaded the bundle.

When the extra passes are created

After you create the main pass of a bundle, Passcreator does not build the other passes right away. It creates them when the holder taps Add to Wallet. If you need the passes upfront, for example to set a different name on each one, choose Create all passes of this bundle now after you create the main pass.

Three ways to build bundles

  • Projects. Best when every bundle holds the same passes. See Use projects to create a bundle.
  • Select and bundle in the backend. Bundle existing passes by hand. See Bundle existing passes.
  • API. Build bundles from your own system.

For a large number of bundled passes, use a process. Choose the main template, upload a CSV where each column is a pass field and each line is one pass, and Passcreator creates the bundles. The example file uses a semicolon as the delimiter and a quote as the string enclosure.
